If you have regular medication for a condition that your doctor is aware of, you can periodically collect a repeat prescription from the practice without having to make an appointment.
Repeat prescription requests can be handed in, in the following ways:

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review there regular medications and notification of this should appear on your prescription. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow at least two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

People with certain medical conditions can get free NHS prescriptions if they have a valid medical exemption certificate.
A medical exemption certificate:
It’s your responsibility to check the expiry date, and if you claim free prescriptions after your certificate expires, you could have to pay a penalty charge of up to £100.
